Dixon Springs, Illinois – day 25

We left Kentucky this morning, and took the ferry to “Cave in Rock” Illinois . I registered 379 miles covering Kentucky.
The smell of the honeysuckle is so strong in the morning rides and the birds are loudly squawking “bob white” among other things

We stopped at a bike rest stop, and Flat Stanley got out to stretch

Most of us were on the same 6 car ferry at 10:00 AM, and we wheeled on to Elizabethtown. By the time we got there we had our first lunch, but stopped for a second breakfast of eggs and bacon.

Tomorrow, we must leave to cross a bridge before 7:00 am because it is being demolished after 7:00. Then on to Carbondale for two nights at Super 8. In Dixon Spring State Campground tonight.

We pulled into the state park near several prisons and met a local bike fan, Jonathan.
